Hiya, Tempest, I'm Way. That's my IRL last name, and my go-to character name in most games. When 1.0 released, I was feeling clever and just wanted to log in ASAP, so Way Protagonist was born. I quickly left 1.0 in pursuit of more engaging games and forgot all about Way Protagonist, the young Elezen lancer from Gridania.

Years later here we are, back in Eorzea. Thanks for welcoming me into Tempest and being so kind and friendly toward a complete stranger. Let's change that, shall we?


Welcome to Way's About Me

I've lived in New York State my entire life, currently residing in Little Italy, Manhattan. I'm a single, straight dude with a stable job (Hello, ladies). I have a bachelor's degree in TV & Film Production, yet pursued a career in I.T. Administration –spending many years in financial support positions. I spend most of my free time playing video games (PC/PS3/3DS). Outside of gaming, I love reading sci-fi and fantasy novels; Goodreads.com says I read 26 such in 2013. On occasion I will get drunk on bourbon and intentionally watch terrible Netflix movies.

I'm no stranger to MMOs, and hate to admit how much of my life I've dedicated to them. Among them, FFXI and WoW have definitely held my interest the longest. I had high hopes for City of Heroes and Warhammer Online, and out of curiosity beta tested Age of Conan, DC Universe Online, and Guild Wars 2. I've taken on the role of guildless ronin, member, officer, guild leader, raid leader, and PVP coordinator. I don't have any specific in-game goals for FFXIV, and have simply been enjoying myself playing with friends and friendly strangers.

I'm a collector and lover of music, and have played drums in various bands since I was 12. Now, 19 years later, I'm still at it. As a result, I may occasionally miss an FC event for band-related obligations (sorry in advance!).

I'm generally super-relaxed, sarcastic, and fun to be around. I like theorycrafting character builds, gear combinations, and boss strategies. I think Tempest is already a good fit for me, and we just met.
